During this process, your body will have accumulated mood boosting brain chemicals known as Gamma-amino Butyric Acid (GABA). GABA is a neurotransmitter, a chemical messenger that carries, boosts and modulates signals between neurons (nerve cells) and other cells in the body. Kriya Yoga is a meditation technique that quickly accelerates one’s spiritual growth. It was first made widely known by Paramhansa Yogananda in his Autobiography of a Yogi. According to Yogananda, Kriya is the most effective technique available to mankind today for reaching the goal of Yoga: union with the Divine.

Children's Summer Yoga Course:

Two-week Yoga Kid’s Camp will be held in the Ashram during the summer school holidays and is for children aged six to fourteen years. Kid’s camp combines the beauty and discipline of yoga with the fun of camp! By practicing yogic principles, children will learn to develop discipline, personal skills and talents and will also build character and improve self~confidence. The training children receive will work positively at the subconscious level to give a strong spiritual foundation for their future lives. Kids will develop a respect for nature, learn to respect all religions and begin to experience the inner silence and peace that come through the practice of yoga and meditation.

Yoga Teacher’s Training Course (TTC):

This three-month course is an intensive and transformational experience that will help you to establish a firm foundation of inner discipline. The program is based on the principle of 'Synthesis of Yoga,' an integrated approach to learning that includes Raja Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Karma Yoga and Jnana Yoga. Students will also have the opportunity to learn about the Hindu rites and rituals that are also fundamental to the ashram schedule.You will learn to perfect your own personal practice as well as to develop skills to teach yoga to others. The TTC is a challenging experience, and if completed successfully students will receive yoga teacher's Training Certificate. A candidate for TTC should have a sincere desire to learn and openness to yogic technique. A basic knowledge of yoga postures and philosophy is helpful, but not essential.

The duration of the course is 1 to 3 month 200 /500 hours classes according student time suitability. After completion of the written examination a “SURYA JYOTHI YOGA INSTRUCTORS FOUNDATION COURSE” a certificate diploma will be awarded.

Curriculum

Asanas: Practice of basic asanas as well as advanced variations, with emphasis on intensity, longer holding and concentration.

 

Pranayama: Breath control for long life. Become healthy and energetic by practicing the techniques daily. By control of your breath you can control easily the mind and it’s functions and thought. Pranayama is an exact science. Control of Prana means control of mind. Mind can not be operate with out the prana. The vibrations of prana only produce thoughts in the mind. It is prana that move the mind. Prana is the overcoat for the mind.It is through Pranayama they you can control your circumstances and character and can consciously harmonize the individual life with the cosmic life.Regular Pranayama Keeps mind body and thoughts in balance and health and helps for meditation.

 

Anatomy and Physiology: In depth study of the function of the nervous system, the brain and the endocrine system in relation to the yogic practices.

 

 

 

 

Raja Yoga: Study of the Raja Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.

 

 

 

 

 

Vedanta: The six philosophical schools of India will be presented, and the complexities of Advaita Vedanta are explained with the use of Vedantic analogies.

 

 

 

 

Sanskrit: Study of the Sanskrit alphabet, as well as pronunciation and writing of the mantras.

 

 

 

 

Bhakti Yoga / Karma Yoga: The yoga of devotion and self-less service.

Mudras-Hand Yoga(1 Week):Mudras are defined as seals and they are represented by different combinations of thumb and the other fingers of the hand.

 

According to the Yogic texts, the physical body is made up of five elements: Fire, Air, Aakash, Earth and water which are represented by our thumb, index, middle, ring and little fingers respectively. An imbalance in any of these elements causes diseases as it disrupts the immunity system.

 

As and when the thumb is brought int contact with a finger representing an element, that element is brought into balance, as the mudras start electromagnetic currents within the body and also redirect prana (vital life force) radiating away from nadis and chakras (energy channels/centers) in the body by forming new circuits with the nerve endings.

 

Mudras can be used to enhance the mood, attitude, awareness, concentration, memory and in general for a general healthy well being, if practiced on a regular basis.

 

For example: Through a regular practice of gyan mudra,one's concentration and memory can be enhanced as it works on the intellect. Also, one's level of happiness increases, as it brings forth peace and calmness. Thus, one's quality of life improves.

 

Gyan mudra is by connecting the thumb and the index/fore finger tip to tip and the other fingers are straight and relaxed.,These can be practiced by anyone while sitting, talking, walking or even while lying down.
